Aman Kekilov

Biografi

One of a famous Turkmen philologist and poet Aman Kekilov. Aman Kekilov was born in 1912. In 1922 lose his parents and lived in boarding school. In 1928 began to publish first poetry. In 1934 he is a member of Writers Union. Aman Kekilov was among the participants of the first congress of Soviet writers in Moscow. He got a membership card from Maxim Gorky hands.

 

Aman Kekilov is the author of First State Hymn of Turkmenistan, which existed from 1946 to 1993 year. Aman Kekilov is the author of first and only Turkmen novels in poetry "The Love".

 

The first lessons of creation Aman Kekilov and his brothers got from their uncle, which known by heart great number of Turkmen's poems. And children liked to imitate his humorous rhymes. They tried to make up something themselves. However, in ten years old, Aman Kekilov became an orphan and his elder brother arranged him to boarding school. Nevertheless, these poetic games they continued there too. And in 1928 the brothers published their first poetry.

 

All his life Aman Kekilov tried to combine two muses, two passions: a science and a creation. He carefully learned the works of the last writers and their contemporaries. In addition, at the same time he created himself - poems, poetry, romance, and pieces.

His works was destines for very different (various) layers of population.
Fairy-tales known from childhood, romance "The Love" knew and knows a few generations in
Turkmenistan. Till now his works are study in schools.
His scientific works has big value for development of Turkmen literature.

Dr. Aman Kekilov is a famous Turkmen philologist and one of the founders of the modern Turkmen literature. For his doctor degree Aman Kekilov chose a life and creation of great lyric Mollanepes. His monograph "The great lyric" until now attract the interest of sciences, philologists, teachers like other capital works, such as "The art of word", "The rise and development of critical thought in Turkmenistan" and other.

 

Aman Kekilov contributed significantly to the development the Turkmen language, poetry and prose. He was a member of Writers Union of the former USSR, professor of philology and Academician of the Academy of Science of the Turkmen Republic.

 

The most of his works now as a bibliographical rarity, because it not issues a long time. Many sciences, teachers and students asks about its, because they can not find it in libraries.

 

He created, teaches, travelled in different countries and besides there was many guests in our home. Among the guests were so famous writers as K. Chukovsky, S. Marshack.

People like him, he had many friends, and they like to gather in his hospitable home.

Now we have a Street, which carries his name in Ashgabad. Also there has Turkmen Pedagogical School with his name, which called in his honour. Every 5 years the students of this school organize the creative days, dedicated to his memory.
Many writers in
Turkmenistan are considers Aman Kekilov their teacher.
People remember him and his poems.

He died in 1974, not so old. However, it was his third infarct and his heart not passed it. He tried to do so much, but, unfortunately, he left many unfinished works.
